Ciaran Doherty wins Brendan Boyce Olympic Fund 5k Race

The Brendan Boyce Olympic Fund 5k Race took place in Milford last night, with Ciaran Doherty of Letterkenny AC coming first with a time of 15:54.
The race was a fundraiser for LAC athlete Brendan Boyce, who will be competing in the Rio Olympics later this year.
Kevin Logue came in second with a time of 17:03, and was followed closely in third by Noel Diver, Rosses AC, with 17:13.
Gareth Kerrigan, Milford AC, came in fourth at 17:27, and Enda McBride from Letterkenny AC rounded up the top five with a time of 17:28.
In other local athletic news, LYIT & Finn Valley AC’s John Kelly won the Irish University shot title with a new Donegal record of 16.16m.
His club mate and fellow LYIT student Gavin McLaughlin came in second in the same event.
