Donegal Islands Committee meets with commitments given for regular discussions

A member of the Donegal Islands Committee, who accused councillors of 'neglecting' the islands, has welcomed a commitment by the council to hold four meetings of the committee each year.

Seamus Rodgers was heavily critical of Councillors in the Glenties Municipal District last month revealing that only one meeting of the Committee had taken place since the last local elections.

The committee was estalblished to give a voice to those living on our islands on issues ranging from roads to broadband service to health.

Mr Rodgers, himself a former councillor, says there now seems a renewed interest in addressing those issues.............
