House prices rise as number of dwellings on the market falls

House prices in Donegal have risen significantly compared with last year.
According to the latest House Price Report released today by Daft.ie the national average house price has risen by an average of 5.9% from this time last year.
House prices in the North West have increased significantly in the past year with a 10.4% increase in Connaght -Ulster when compared with this time last year.
In Donegal prices between January and March 2016 were 10% higher than a year previously, compared to a rise of 6% seen a year ago.
The average house price in Donegal is now €132,000, 17% above its lowest point.
The total number of properties for sale at any one time continues to fall. At less than 24,000, this is now at its lowest point since February 2007.
Across Ulster, Munster, Connacht, there were 13,500 homes for sale in April 2016, compared to almost 21,000 two years previously.
