Defeat for Donegal hurlers but Ardel McDermott’s team now face a play-off

HurlingDonegal suffered their fifth consecutive defeat in the Allianz National Hurling League as they were beaten 2-27 to 0-17 by Wicklow in Aughrim.
This result leaves them at the foot of the table.
However, they have still got a chance to stay in Division 2B.
They now go into a play-off – against Wicklow again – at a neutral venue. If they win, they stay up, but if they lose they must then face another play-off, against a Division 3A side.
It’s been a difficult season, but manager Ardal McDermott has paid tribute to his players for their commitment.
