Inishowen domestic violence service facing closure

lifeline

A service providing support for women experiencing domestic violence in Inishowen is facing closure from March 31st because the national coordinating agency Tusla is discontinuing its funding.

Lifeline providwes a range of services including a helpline, counselling for women and children, a drop in service and court accompaniment.

However, Tusla says these services are provided by other groups in Inishowen, and as a result, they are withdrawing Lifeline's funding.

The group says it will try to maintain some level of support, but cannot continue to provide services.

Gerard Moyne is Vice Chairperson of Lifeline, he believes Tusla is wrong on every level.........
