Average Donegal rent still under €500

prtb rent q4
The average rent for all private dwellings in Donegal in Quarter 4, 2015, was €463.
That is an increase of €6 when compared to the average rent in the previous quarter and up €23 when compared to a year earlier.
The data comes from the latest Private Residential Tenancies Board Quarterly Rent Index which is compiled by the ESRI.
Rent prices vary across the county dependent on the accomodation – a two bedroom property in Letterkenny averages 473 euro per month, the same property in Donegal Town would be 100 euro less.
The highest rate for a three bedroom house is in Ballybofey at almost 500 (496.85) per month but you could get the same accomodation in Carndonagh for just 376 euro.
There is less of a variation in prices across Donegal for houses with four bedrooms or more – in Letterkenny you’ll pay 559 euro compared to the low of 501 euro in Buncrana.
The PRTB says theirs are the most accurate figures as they are based on the actual rents being paid as distinct from the asking or advertised rent.
