Donegal athlete Mark English has been forced to withdraw from the World Indoor Championships.
Athletics expert Patsy McGonagle revealed on Highland Radio’s Sunday Sport show that Mark withdrew due to injury.
He said Mark was training on Saturday but hurt his foot and is concerned enough by the ankle injury to pull the plug.
He twisted his ankle and will be unable to compete in the 800m.
Patsy said there is no other Irish athlete who can take Mark’s place at the championships in America.
They are scheduled to be held at Portland in Oregon over March 17 to 20.
