World T20 disappointment for Ireland’s North West players in India

William Porterfield and Andrew McBrine
Ireland’s ICC World Twenty20 championship has been brought to a crushing halt.
Today’s match against Bangladesh has been abandoned after heavy rain in Dharamsala.
Following their opening group defeat to Oman, the result means that Ireland now longer have a chance of reaching the next round – regardless of how they perform against the Netherlands in their final Group A match on Sunday.
The north west league is well represented in the squad with Bready’s Craig Young, Eglinton’s Stuart Thompson and Donemana’s Andy Mc Brine along with former Bready man Boyd Rankin and ex Donemana man William Porterfield included for the tournament.
