A Donegal councillor is calling for more resources for the passport office in Dublin, saying that a number of people in the county could miss out on trips abroad because their documents are not ready.
In its latest update as of Wednesday last week, the passport says express renewals should take 11 to 15 working days and new applications should taske around 20 working days.
However, people are being urged to allow six weeks for their applications because of the possiblity of a backlog of applications.
Now, Cllr Michael Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig believes the situation is reaching crisis point.
He says he’s been contacted by a number of people who are getting very worried….
