One of Derry’s most iconic shops has closed its doors today, with over 50 staff told their jobs are gone with immediate effect.
Austins on the Diamond in Derry opened in the 19th century, and was often described as Ireland’s Oldest Department Store.
However, it’s understood the company has now gone into liquidation, and will not reopen.
