Former Manchester United youth goalkeeper Joe Coll was the hero of the day on Sunday as the Donegal North East League reached the Oscar Traynor Cup semi-final.

The Donegal side won today’s quarter-final against the North East Football League at The Moss in Drumoghill in a sudden death penalty shootout.

The game was tied at 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Paul Delaney scored in the eighth minute goal for the North East side to give them an early 1-0 lead and that remained the score at half-time.

But Donegal North East League levelled it to set up the exciting penalty shootout.

Donegal’s goalie Joe Coll was the hero of the say, crucially saving a penalty to put his team through to the semi where they will face the Clare League.
