The lady footballers of Donegal were going for three wins from three games when they took on Sligo on Sunday afternoon.
The away game in Tourlestrane got off to a flying start, with plenty of scores as Donegal took a narrow lead of Sligo 1-02 v Donegal 0-06.
But Sligo then scored a goal to go in front 2-02 v 0-07, before Donegal scored a penalty as the half-time scores showed Donegal in command on a score of 2-02 to 1-09.
Star player Gerladine McLaughlin of Moville completed a hat-trick with a second penalty to make the score 4-15 (27) v 2-04 (10) as Donegal looked to secure the win.
