Ireland draw with Wales in Six Nations opener

Irish Rugby

Ireland began the Six Nations at home against Wales and a draw was the end result, despite leading at half-time.
Joe Schmidt’s men had some players missing, but were boosted by Jonny Sexton’s good form with two early penalties.
He helped Ireland to a half-time score at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin of Ireland 13 v 10 Wales.
Wales levelled the scores at 13 v 13 with a penalty and it was a close encounter towards the end, with Wales finishing strong.
It was a fair result and denied a victorious start day for newly-appointed Ireland captain Rory Best on his 90th cap.
