Two Donegal players were in a triumphant ladies’ team which beat Wales as the Women’s RBS 6 Nations championship got underway .
Larissa Muldoon, who is from Cappry and plays rugby for Skewen in Wales, started the match, while Nora Stapleton, who is from Fahan and plays for Old Belvedere in Leinster, came on as a substitute.
They helped Ireland defend its RBS 6 Nations crown with a 21-3 win in Donnybrook.
Nora, who received a Donegal Sports Star Award recently in the Mount Errigal Hotel, and scrum half Larissa each won the Women’s RBS 6 Nations championship last year with Ireland.
