Pringle welcomes council decision to seek Magheraroarty study

Donegal County Council is to apply for funding for a study at Magheroarty Pier, with a view towards planning the construction of a breakwater.
The pier there serves local fishermen, as well as the ferry to Tory Island, but the build-up of sand at the pier becomes so bad that it may need to be dredged twice a year.
Last year, Donegal County Council spent over €46,000 dredging the pier, and Deputy Thomas Pringle says in the long term, a breakwater make economic sense.
Deputy Pringle is welcoming the decision to seek money or a comprehensive study. He says it’s needed…………
