North West players involved with Ireland Cricket


Ireland are on top after day 2 their Inter Continental Cricket Cup clash with Papua New Guinea in Townsville.

The Green machine are 289 all out while Papua New Guinea are 166 for 7 after 76 overs heading into day 3 tomorrow.

Donemana’s Andrew Mc Brine hit 23 for Ireland this morning while Bready’s Craig Young took 2-36 and Boyd Rankin 2-16.

Eglinton’s Stewart Thompson is out of action this week with an injuried foot.

Elsewhere at the under 19 world cup in Bangladesh Ireland lost by six wickets to New Zealand.

Donemana’s Gary Mc Clintock scored 34 for Ireland today.
