Donegal’s Frank McGlynn was delighted to pick up two points away to Down last night in the National Football League opener.
Rory Gallagher’s men won 3-15 (24) to 0-07 (7) at Pairc Esler in Newry on Saturday evening to record a first away win in Division One since 2009.
Glenfin man McGlynn, who was last month named Donegal Footballer of the Year, said the team played with a freshness and intensity that he hopes can be shown again in the next game, which is a home tie against Cork.
