McFadden family reveals pride at making Donegal Sport Star history

A sporting family has spoken of their pride at creating history at the Donegal Sport Star Awards.
Husband and wife team Sean and Irene McFadden both won awards at the prestigious event on Friday night.
It is the first time that a husband and wife scooped awards at the same ceremony in 40 years of the awards.
Sean won the Brendan McDaid Special Achievement Award after winning Ireland’s first 24-hour endurance event – a 250km trek around Donegal – last March.
Irene, who is a teacher at Scoil Mhuire gan Smal in Letterkenny, won the award for Primary School Sports Teacher of the Year.
Daughter Shauna was nominated for a cycling award.
