An application lodged in October by the local Butt Hall Committee to have the landmark demolished was met with heavy criticism, sparking a well backed online petition
Donegal County Council rejected the proposed demolition of the iconic building under the grounds of its architectural and social value.
But it's future is again in the balance after the Butt Hall Committee appealed the council's decision to An Bord Pleanala.
A decision is due in May.
