Sean Houston returns for second spell at Harps

Finn Harps
Finn Harps have signed Letterkenny man Sean Houston ahead of the forthcoming 2016 premier season.
The ex-Derry, Bray and UCD player is returning for his second spell with the club having previously joined from Fanad United in 2009.
Sean made his Harps debut against UCD in 2009 and went on to make 14 appearances for Harps that year, scoring four goals. He left Harps to join UCD on a football scholarship.
Harps Manager Ollie Horgan says ” I think everyone at Finn Park will be very pleased Sean is returning to the club.
He has gathered considerable experience at Premier level since he was last here so Sean will have a good idea of what challenges lie ahead for us this season.
We still have work to do on the recruitment side of things but Sean coming on board is another step in the right direction.”
Having played as a striker at his previous clubs he mainly played as at left back for Bray and made eleven league appearances in the latter half of 2010.
In 2011 Sean found himself playing in a more familiar forward role and he scored four times in 17 league appearances, hitting a hat-trick in a 4-0 win over former club UCD on 21 September. The following season he was a more regular presence in midfield and made 26 league appearances, scoring twice.
In December 2012 Sean signed for Declan Devine at Derry City. He made his debut for Derry in a 1-1 draw with Drogheda United on 19 March 2013 and made 15 league appearances as Derry finished fourth in the Premier Division. Sean left the club at the end of the 2013 season but re-signed for Derry in July 2014 and made seven appearances in the 2014 Premier Division and also came off the bench in the FAI Cup Final, which Derry lost 2-0 to St Pats.
In June 2015 Derry announced that Sean had been released from his contract having made over 30 appearances while scoring four goals in the process.
