Snow and ice warning remains in place for Donegal

Motorists are being advised to drive with extra care as the cold snap continues to grip the county.

Yesterday Met Eireann extended an orange weather alert with snow accumulations of up to eight centimetres predicted in counties Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo until at least midday today.

Temperatures fell well below freezing last night and Gerry Murphy from Met Eireann says roads will be treacherous:
