Gardai arrest man in connection with Seamus Doherty murder probe

Gardaí at Milford, Co Donegal investigating the murder of Seamus Doherty  have arrested a 52 year old man in connection with this investigation. The man was arrested last night (13/1/16) in Raphoe, Co Donegal.
He is expected to appear before Buncrana District Court this morning (14/1/16)
Investigations are continuing.
Gardai in Milford launched a murder investigation in 2012 following the discovery of Seamua Doherty’s body in a house in Churchill.
At approximately 1.50am on the 17th of June 2012 Gardaí and emergency services were called to a house at Drumacnoo near the village of Churchill where the body of 67 year old Seamus Doherty was discovered.
He was pronounced dead at the scene and removed to Letterkenny Hospital.
Following a post-mortem examination carried out by the State Pathologist Prof.Marie Cassidy on the 19th June it was established that Mr Doherty had died in suspicious circumstances.
A file was sent to the DPP in May 2015 and following direction from the DPP a 52 year old man was arrested in Raphoe last night in connection with the investigation.
He is due to appear before Buncranna District Court later today.
