Donegal Chair of the Dail’s Petitions Committee reacts to calls for Conor McGregor to feature on coins

Conor McGregor has called on an Oireachtas Committee to have his face put on a one euro coin.
The Petitions Committee has received a call from his fans looking for the UFC star to be featured on the coin and will discuss the issue today.
The UFC fighter has asked the Oireachtas Committee to “vote Yes”.
The petition is unlikely to be accepted as Ireland would need to get approval from every other EU member state in order to issue a special coin that could be accepted as legal tender.
Donegal Deputy Padraig MacLochlainn is Chair of the Petitions Committee – he says the petition will be considered like all that are received and the story serves to highlight the positive work the committee does:
