Coastguard Controller highlights importance of cooperation

The Divisional Commander of the Coastguard in Donegal says the level of cooperation and understanding between the emergency services has been a key element of their success over the past 12 months.
The Irish Coastguard’s end of year report showed increased activity across the board, and particularly at Malin Head, which had its busiest year ever.
The coast guard says it saved 290 lives this year, with a total of 2657 operations, a third of which originated at Malin Head.
The Divisional Controller of the Malin Head Coastguard Station is Derek Flanagan.
