Mc Gowan backs calls for single authority to coordinate flood response

A Donegal Councillor is backing IFA calls for the setting up of a a single Authorty to manage flooding problems all over the Country.

Stranorlar area Cllr Patrick Mc Gowan says at present, responsibility is being passed from agency top agency, and Government emergency funding is not been properly channeled.

He says the experience of people affected by flooding of the River Finn is a prime example of no one taking the lead.

He says Donegal County Council is trying to respond on its own, but is not being equipped to do so..........
