Calls for flood mitigation plan as Donegal counts the cost of Storm Desmond

All main roads have now reopened after the Storm Desmond at the weekend, leaving householders and businesses counting the cost and continuing the clean up after severe flooding in many areas.
There may still be issues on minor roads, and continued caution is advised.
There have been calls for the implementation of a flood mitigation plan in the Finn Valley area, after it was hit for the second time inside a month.
Councillor Gary Doherty says despite flooding happening on more than one occasion, the Government are failing to act.
He is calling for a flood management plan for the entire east of the county and the Finn Valley community simply cannot continue to live in fear that this could happen again………
