Storm Desmond moves on but many routes in Donegal remain closed today

Storm Warning
Met Eireann has lifted five weather warnings as Storm Desmond moves eastwards across the Irish Sea however many parts of Donegal remain severely flooded and some homes are still without power, 11 in the Milford area.
The storm wreaked havoc dumping in the region of 100 millimetres of rain along the north west, west and south of the country.
Many of the main routes in and to Donegal remain closed today including the N15 at Castlefin, bridge at Lifford/Strabane and bridge at Clady.
There are also unconfirmed reports of road closures at Aughnacloy.
The Carrigart/ Creeslough Road, The Dore/ Brinlack Road at Bunbeg are now passable.
Anyone planning a journey today should check that their routes are clear and only embark on journeys that are absolutely necessary.
