Gardai in Donegal are urging people not to travel tonight unless absolutely necessary.
There is very serious flooding already in Ballybofey, Stranorlar and around the Finn Valley, with serious concerns as the River Finn rises this evening.
Earlier this afternoon
Meanwhile in the past hour, the Back of Errigal and Back of Muckish roads have both closed. That means the only link between between the east and west of the county is via Milford, Carrigart and Creeslough, and that road is also becoming very dangerous.
Garda Inspector Goretti Sheridan has this warning for motorists……

The N56 has been closed for much of the day at the Log Cabin, and also around Termon, and back roads are now becoming more treacherous, particularly during the hours of darkness.
The bridges at Liscooley, Castlefinn and Glenmore are impassable, there are also problems reported in Dungloe, Gweedore and the Waters Edge in Rathmullan, as well as on the road between Rathmullan.
All areas are susceptible to flooding, and this list is by no means exhaustive. gardai say the best advice tonight is, unless absolutely necessary, people should not leave their homes tonight.
