Detectives in Derry are appealing for information following an armed robbery that occurred in the Racecourse Road area yesterday evening.
At approximately 6.55pm, a 20 year old man was walking on the Collon Lane when he was held at knifepoint by two other men.
They rifled through his pockets and made off with a wallet, a mobile phone, keys and cigarettes. The 20 year old man was not injured in the incident.
One of the men is described as being about 18 or 19 years old, about 5’10” tall, of slim build and was wearing a black duffel jacket with a furry hood.
The other man is thought to be in his late teens, about 6’1″ tall, of medium build and was wearing a grey hooded top and dark tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Inspector Conor McStravick said: “I would ask anyone who noticed these two males or any suspicious activity in the area to contact detectives at Strand Road Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
