Letterkenny General Hospital to receive 10 extra beds to ease overcrowding

Letterkenny General Hospital is to receive 10 additional beds according to the INMO, to help alleviate overcrowding in its Emergency Department.
The HSE says 400 extra beds will be opened at hospitals across the country before the end of the year.
It’s after Tallaght Hospital yesterday apologised ‘unreservedly’ to a 91 year old man with Parkinson’s who spent 29 hours on a trolley there.
Hospitals are reaching breaking point, with the highest numbers ever on trolleys with Letterkenny General Hospital in excess of 20 people without a bed last month.
However, Liam Doran, Head of the INMO says it’s not yet clear when the hospital is to receive these beds due to a number of factors:
