Man due in court in relation to drug offences in Derry

A 34-year-old man has been charged with drugs offences following a police search in  Derry.

The man was arrested yesterday morning  and £5,000 worth of suspected Class A drugs seized in the Galliagh area of the city.

The search was carried out  by the District Support Team based at Strand Road police station.

Officers also seized cash and drugs-related paraphernalia.

He has been charged with obstructing powers of a search for drugs and possessing a Class A controlled drug with intent to supply.

He is expected to appear at Derry Magistrates Court tomorrow.
