A viable explosive device has been made safe at a Derry hotel that had been due to host a PSNI recruitment event.
The device was recovered within the grounds of the Waterfoot Hotel during an alert which began yesterday morning.
The PSNI says recruitment events are taking place today in Belfast and Omagh, after security alerts ended.
Police say nothing untoward was found at Belfast Metropolitan College or Strule Arts Centre.
However a third event planned for Derry has been postponed until next Saturday, after a controlled explosion was carried out on a suspicious package which turned out to be viable.
