The BBC is reporting today that a Scottish nurse who contracted Ebola last Christmas has been readmitted to hospital.
Pauline Cafferkey, who has family roots in Rannyhual near Kincasslagh, has been flown to London via RAF Northolt, where she was transferred to a waiting ambulance under maximum precautions for infection control.
It is understood she will be readmitted to the Royal Free Hospital where she was originally treated for Ebola.
An NHS spokesperson in Glasgow says the 39 year old was readmitted to hospital because of “an unusual late complication in her illness”. The spokesperson added that while a number of close contacts are being followed up, the risk to the public is low.
