A group of 20 travel and holiday specialists are in Donegal this morning ahead of the second workshop in a series of six Fáilte Ireland Autumn Sales events.
The inbound buyers will be hearing pitches and presentations from a number of local tourism businesses.
The group was brought on a guided walk along the Wild Atlantic Way to view sea stacks, sea cliffs and rock faces yesterday afternoon before staying overnight in Donegal Town.
Today, the group will visit Harvey’s Point at Lough Eske, before travelling on to Sligo, Roscommon, Westmeath and Kildare, ahead of a workshop in Dublin on Wednesday.
Failte Ireland say these workshops and events are focussing on target markets considered as areas of potential growth for Ireland.
A Fáilte Ireland spokesperson says these top UK buyers have the capacity to deliver significant amounts of visitors to Donegal and their presence is a testimony to Ireland’s appeal as a destination.
She said the planning is already starting for the 2016 season, and even though key markets are delivering extra visitors and revenue for 2015, we must not become complacent.
