The importance of working within the strong Fianna Faíl team in the Council cannot be underestimated and I hope to continue to work as a united front with my fellow FF Councillors to constructively deliver for the people of Donegal”.
He continuted: ‘The Political landscape across our nation and indeed County has changed dramatically in recent years and with a large, young population situated in the Letterkenny – Milford EA I feel that we as a party absolutely must give James Pat McDaid an opportunity to contest the upcoming election, since his election in 2014 Cllr. Mc Daid has demonstrated that he is be a vital part of the Fianna Faíl team and I hope that he is afforded the opportunity to have his name on the ballot at the forthcoming General Election. To have a young candidate so eager and energetic about running is a positive departure for Fianna Faíl and for Donegal, one that should be welcomed and not feared by his fellow colleagues’.
