Donegal Councillors vote not to vary rate of local property tax

Donegal Councillors have voted not to vary the rate of the local property tax for the next year.
Councillors in each local authority have the power to maintain the tax rate or increase it or decrease it by 15%.
Around 10 million Euro is raised in Donegal through the local property tax but the amount the council has to spend is boosted to 22 million Euro as part of an equalization scene from other counties.
Sinn Fein were the only party to vote for the tax to be reduced even though it does not support the tax.
