This week 30 years ago, Derry City joined the League of Ireland.
In 1985, four men, Eamonn Mc Laughlin, Terry Harkin, Tony O’Doherty and Eddie Mahon plotted the Candystrips return to senior football after 13 years in the wilderness and many failed attempts in trying rejoining the Irish League.
Eamon Mc Laughlin said, at the time it was a long process and alot of hard work it paid off..
