Report finds Donegal pubs vital to county’s economy

A new report has been published highlighting the importance of Donegal pubs to the county’s tourism economy
In Donegal, there were 199,000 overseas tourists in 2013, spending €63 million
The report showed that overseas visitors to Ireland spend 21% of their holiday expenditure on food and drink, with 26% of overseas visitors using pubs in Donegal and Sligo for meals.
The Support Your Local campaign is now calling for tax on alcohol to be cut, stating that these taxes are damaging our competitiveness and costing jobs.
