Update: victim of fatal road traffic crash in Donegal named

A man who died in a road traffic collision overnight in Donegal has been named locally as John McGarrigle, a widower from Ballyshannon.
The 70 year old, a retired fisheries bailiff and part-time funeral undertaker was on his way home from his regular bingo outing when he was fatally injured.
The SUV he was driving was involved in a collision with a jeep.
Mr. McGarrigle was pronounced dead at the scene and his body was removed to Sligo General Hospital.
The three other passengers in the SUV, one male and two female, were taken to Sligo General Hospital with injuries described as serious but not life threatening.
The driver and passenger of the second vehicle, a jeep, were also taken to Sligo General Hospital with injuries described as minor.
The accident happened as Mr McGarrigle was driving home from a bingo session in Ballintra community hall.
It occurred as he exited a side-road and was turning left for Ballyshannon when there was a collision with a jeep also driving to Ballyshannon on the N15.
The road remains closed between the Laghy junction and Ballintra junction as a technical examination is being carried out by Gardai.
Diversions are in place.
The road is expected to remain closed for some time today.
