O’Donnell’s fighter go for Gold in Bulgaria

 
There are a pair of gold medals on the line in Bulgaria for Peter O’Donnell’s Irish boxers today.
First into the ring at the European Championships is Michael Conlan in the 56kg category.
He’s up against Britain’s Qais Ashfaq who he beat to claim gold at last year’s Commenwealth Games.
Westmeath’s Joe Ward then takes on Peter Mullenberg of the Netherlands in the light heavy-weight decider.
This is the first Ireland team in a  major championship that Raphoe man O’Donnell has taken charge off.
