Derry’s Northland Road to close later this month as resurfacing works reach completion

Derry’s Northland Road will be closed to through traffic as part of the £200,000 resurfacing programme which is ongoing.
The road will close from Crawford Square to Eden Terrace from 8am on Monday August 24th to 6pm on Saturday August 29th to allow for the final surfacing to be laid.
A diversion route via Duncreggan Road, Strand Road, Queen’s Quay Roundabout, Strand Road, Clarendon Street and vice versa shall be signposted. Access for residents will be maintained.
Restrictions will remains in place for some time after that, wuith Transport NI pledging to minimise disruption as much as possible. However, it is warning some delays should be expected.

The Northland Road will be closed to through traffic as part of the £200,000 on-going resurfacing work in Londonderry.
The Northland Road will be closed from Crawford Square to Eden Terrace from 8.00am on Monday 24 August to 6.00pm on Saturday 29 August 2015. The closure is necessary to enable the final surfacing to be laid.
A diversion route via Duncreggan Road, Strand Road, Queen’s Quay Roundabout, Strand Road, Clarendon Street and vice versa shall be signposted. Access for residents will be maintained.
Following the above closure one lane of the road shall be closed daily from 9.30am on Monday 31 August to 3.30pm on Tuesday 8 September 2015. This is necessary to enable the re-setting of manhole and valve covers.
The above planned dates are subject to favourable weather conditions and TransportNI will keep the public informed of any change.
TransportNI has carefully programmed the works operations and traffic management arrangements in order to minimise any inconvenience to the public. However, motorists should be aware that some delays may be expected and that additional time should be allowed when planning any journeys.
