It’s emerged that nine children from the Urris area of Inishowen who already go to Carndonagh Community School will be allowed avail of the school transport scheme for another year. However, five others due to start secondary school next month will not be allowed do so.
Controversy developed when it emerged that updated school transport route maps showed that Buncrana was closer to Urris than Carndonagh when using the Mamore Gap, even though locals say it’s not a suitable route for school buses.
Speaking to Greg Hughes on the Shaun Doherty Show today, Parents’ Representative Brian Harkin said their fight will go on, and this apparent reprieve will create its own problems………..
