Derry police investigate sexual assault in St Columb’s Park

Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of a sexual assault in the St Columbs Park area of Derry on Friday night, 24 July.
It was reported that a 17 year old girl was in the area of the park around midnight when she was approached by an unknown male and assaulted.  He is described as being aged in his 30’s.
Detective Inspector Lynne Knox said: “I would appeal to anyone who may have been in the area at the time of this incident to contact Police on the non-emergency number 101.  Alternatively, if someone would prefer to provide information anonymously, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them on 0800 555 111.”
