Brian Mc Iver resigns as Derry Manager

Brian Mc Iver
Brian Mc Iver has stepped down as Derry manager following the county’s exit from the All Ireland Qualifiers.
The Ardboe native made the decision in the wake of the 1-11 to 0-7  defeat to Galway at Pearse Stadium on Saturday evening.
McIver was furious with the a number of the calls by the referee made during the game and in particular the penalty claim near the end.
After the game Brian said “I just can’t handle refereeing decisions like that any longer. I have had to step down”.
He was handed the reigns as manager of the Derry senior footballers in 2012 where he took over from John Brennan.
The victory over Down in June was his first Ulster Championship win as Derry boss.
McIver gave this reaction after the game …..
