National Day of Commemoration is marked across Ireland

Ceremonies to remember Irish people who've lost their lives in wars, and while on peace-keeping missions, were held around the country today.

The National Day of Commemoration at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham in Dublin, was attended by the President, Taoiseach, and cabinet Ministers.

The main North West commemoration was in Sligo.

Other ceremonies also took place in Cork, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick and Waterford.
