This summer, Mary Brophy presents an exciting new wildlife series on Highland Radio. With a host of experts, she’ll be exploring the beautiful landscapes of Donegal to discover the fascinating creatures and plants that inhabit the county. ‘Wild Lives’ begins Thursday 2nd July at 7.30pm on Highland Radio.
Donegal is vast, beautiful and in parts, an uncompromising wilderness. You can travel for miles through this landscape with little evidence of man save for the road and electricity poles that line your route. But this place is alive. From the coast with its sea cliffs and sand dune complexes to the acid bogs and mountains Donegal is home to some of Ireland’s largest and most wonderful plant and animal and bird communities.
In a new eight-part series on Highland Radio, presenter Mary Brophy explores the extraordinary wildlife that lives right here on our doorstep and meets the people who monitor, protect and care for those wild creatures. From Sheskinmore nature reserve to the ancient, deserted island of Inishtrahull. From edible gems in Ards forest to the sharks swimming our seas, ‘Wild Lives’ will be a wild adventure around the county.
