Derry start second half of Premier Division with defeat to Cork

Cork City have kept pace with the leaders Dundalk after two second-half goals helped them to claim a 2-0 win over Derry City at the Brandywell.
Karl Shepard and Billy Dennehy scored the goals as Derry ended the tie with ten men when Aaron Barry was sent off with three minutes left.
Derry haven’t won a Premier Division game since the 20th April when they beat Limerick 2-0
Meanwhile Dundalk put six goals past Limerick FC at Oriel Park.
Brian Gartland and David McMillan scored two goals a piece to help Stephen Kenny’s side maintain their three point lead at the top of the table.
Shamrock Rovers remain in third place after a 2-1 win over their hosts, Galway United.
Elsewhere, two first-half goals from Chris Forrester helped St Pat’s to a 3-0 win at home to Longford Town and Drogheda United upset their hosts Bohemians by a goal to nil at Dalymount Park.
