Gardai have said this year's rally weekend has seen a substantial increase in arrests compared to other years.

Inspector Micheal Harrison has been speaking to Highland Radio News and said the number of arrests made across the county is considerably higher than previous years.

A large number of illegally modified vehicles were also seized over the past few days in a multi-agency operation across the county.

Public order offences are said to be on par with other years.

As the final night of rally weekend approaches, Gardai are reminding road users to exercise extreme caution.
