Latest CSO figures show there were 17,315 people on the register at the end of May, with falls in all of the local offices.
Percentage wise, the biggest fall was in Donegal Town with 1,044 people signing, down 15%.
There were 1,198 people on the register in Dunfanaghy and 992 in Killybegs, both down 14%, while a 13% fall was recorded in Ballybofey, with 2,224 people signing on.
There were 3,338 people on the register in Buncrana, down 11%, 1,307 in Ballyshannon, down 9% and 5.287 in Letterkenny, down 7%.
The small;est rise was recorded in Dungloe, with 1,875 signing on, a fall of just 2%.
