Co Donegal has one of the lowest registration rates for water charges in country

To date the county has the fifth lowest registration rate in Ireland.
A breakdown of how many households in each county have so far registered for charges shows that out of the 58,099 househlds in Co Donegal, 69% has registered.
Meaning 39,904 households have registered in Co Donegal to date.
The only counties with lower registration rates that Donegal were Leitrim at just 57%, Dublin 65% and Meath 68%.
The highest registration rates are in Cavan (91%), Mayo (90%) and Kerry (90%).
The information is obtained from Irish Water under Freedom of Information.
It shows the numbers registered across the 26 counties to February 23 — the most recent period for which data was available.
Estimates on the percentage registered in each county were compiled comparing the Irish Water figures with the 2011 census data on private households from the CSO.
The actual number of dwellings in each county may be more though.
